How long will my soap last in the shower?
Generally, our 4oz handmade soap bars last 2-3 months in the shower but it depends on how much you lather the soap while using. It's best to keep it from sitting in a puddle of water to help it last longer.
How should I keep my soap in the shower?
The best way to make your handmade soap last is to keep it elevated and out of standing water so that it can dry out a bit between uses. Our recycled wood dishes are perfect.
How should I store my soap if I'm not going to use it for a while?
Soap has no expiration date and never "goes bad". It is self-preserving and should be kept in a cool dry place. Our soaps have a very high glycerin content and can sometimes draw water out of the air in high humidity. No worries, this is completely natural and normal.
Why should I buy handmade soap?
Because most commercial soaps are stripped of glycerin, the yummy hydrating component of soap that leaves your skin soft. Over time, you will find you no longer need moisturizer or body oil after using our handmade soaps.
My sisal dry brush is getting "icky", what should I do?
Our dry brushes are intended to be used dry before getting into the shower but they make a fabulous shower brush! Sisal is a natural fiber from the agave plant and tends to hold water. The best solution is to lay your brush in the sun for a day and let the fibers dry out while letting the natural power of the sun disinfect the fibers. Hanging the brush to dry between uses also helps minimize "yuckiness".
My soap dish is getting black and moldy, what should I do?
Our soap dishes are made with natural materials and unlike plastics and resins, they require a bit more upkeep. Simply soak the dish in a dilute hydrogen peroxide solution or place it in the sun for a day, that should do the trick!
How do I know which soap is the shampoo bar? It looks like the milk soap and the fragrance-free bar.
At the moment, we make all of our handmade soaps in the same molds. We are working on finding a new shape for the shampoo bar. Keeping your shampoo bar on a separate soap dish or in a special place in your shower may help.
How do I use the MINERALS tooth powder?
It's really simple. Just wet your toothbrush and dip it into the powder. If you are not used to tooth powder you can use it with your favorite toothpaste. Just apply you toothpaste as usual, wet the paste and brush, and dip it into the powder. Voila! Shiny, sparkling smile!
Can I give my empty bottles back to you?
We don't currently accept "empties" of our products but please recycle the glass at your nearest recycling center. All of our packaging is food grade so you can also upcycle them to hold something else.
What do I do with the little felt pad leftover from the FELTED soap?
Our felted soap is a popular gift item. People use the soap as a sachet in a drawer or closet. After the soap is gone, the little pad can be used as a pot scrubber in the kitchen, a bookmark, or even framed as a little piece of textile art!
